It’s time to stock up your kitchen and try new recipes, all while supporting local farms!
With the arrival of warm weather comes an array of new choices for seasonal produce. You may be surprised by just how many growers of produce and suppliers of meat, dairy, eggs and more are basically right in your backyard. At 2 Home Cooks, we aim to use local ingredients in our kitchen whenever possible.
A fun and convenient place to find these products is the Dover Farmers’ Market, which is held at 550 Central Ave. in Dover on Wednesdays from 2:15-6:00 pm, rain or shine, from June 1st to October 5th. Here you will find numerous vendors with high quality products for sale at reasonable prices. Visiting the local farmers’ market is a great way to make connections and support your local community.
Don’t live in Dover? There are farmers’ markets all over the seacoast – in Durham, Exeter and Portsmouth to name a few! Seacoast Grower’s Association has a wealth of information about the farmers’ markets as well as the countless members of the association that you might find at those markets.
We hope to see you at the next farmers’ market!
